The Recommendation Age Is Here!

by jodie

There Are 3 Major Reasons People Come To The Internet:Laptop Megaphone

  • To make money or save money
  • To find s olutions to problems
  • To find happiness and fulfillment

And we used to live in the Information Age.

The greatest advantage of the internet has been the leveling of the playing field so now anyone with a computer and internet connection can access the same information worldwide.   And in a way, we’ve all been contributing to that information abundance!

However, it seems that the information age is dying.  Why?  Because we are drowning in information overload!  We are glutted with more information than we know what to do with.  We are simply over-communicated to.

Joe Vitale says:

“What people want is not more data, numbers, facts and figure.  What people want is what all that information is supposed to provide:  a way to make their lives happier easier, fuller and more satisfying… They want to be taken by the hand by a trusted, knowledgeable source and lead to wealth, freedom, enrichment, salvation, eternal happiness … Whatever it is they truly and deeply desire.”

The Power Of Recommendation Marketing

People want solutions to their problems, and that means they need information filtered through the expertise of someone who has gone before them.  Is that someone going to by YOU?

Your life experiences and passion position you with the natural readiness to make recommendations to others.  You do it all the time in small ways.  Think about it.  Haven’t you ever told a friend to steer clear of a product that doesn’t live up to expectations?  Ever suggested a restaurant or great movie to see?  I know I have and we all do this.

It’s time to cash in on a natural human tendency.  It’s time for YOU to be the percieved expert in your field.  It’s time for you to have an authority blog and position yourself in the social networks to have people talking about YOU and listening to YOUR recommendations.

It’s time to “Profit Being You

The Internet Allows Any Market (No Matter How Small) To Become Profitable

Now that’s a bold statement from Chris Anderson, author of The Long Tail … but it is seriously worth considering.  The problem is that most people involved in internet marketing are not entirely clear about what niche they should actually be targeting.

Hey – I’ve been there!  I stumbled around for over a year with absolutely no concept about who my true target audience was.  I was following the “throw the spaghetti at the wall” approach – blanket marketing as they say.  But what I’ve since learned is that the more specific you can be, the more authentic you are, the more success you will have with making sales online.

It’s from these experiences that I have developed a 21 step action plan on “how to profit being you using social media and wordpress“.  This training course and soon to be published book has been evolving for over a year.  I guess you could say it has been evolving with me!

I want to share my discoveries for the best possible ways to “Profit Being You” in the new recommendation era.  If you are interested in my thoughts on this topic, and more importantly – if you would like a copy of my 21 step action plan, then I look forward to seeing you on my upcoming webinar.  All attendees will recieve a copy.

To quote Glenn Dietzel, now is the time to start creating your legacy – strategically position yourself online and you will definitely cash in on this new era.

Hugs from downunder,

Jodie

Jodie,

It's amazing how social media can have such a huge impact on the world around us. Between Gary Veynerchuck and you… we're going to crush it in the recommendation era.

Thanks for leading the way.

Howdy! Do you know if they make any plugins to protect against hackers? I’m kinda paranoid about losing everything I’ve worked hard on. Any recommendations?

Thanks for the different tips discussed on this blog site. I have seen that many insurers offer prospects generous savings if they choose to insure many cars with them. A significant quantity of households currently have several cars or trucks these days, particularly people with mature teenage kids still located at home, as well as the savings with policies could soon begin. So it pays off to look for a bargain.
