Meet Jodie

Welcome to my “Jodie Recommends” Blog.  I started this blog with the intention to provide valuable information about the tools, resources and experiences that make up all that is a part of my online business.  Originally the reason I purchased the domain name Jodie Recommends is because my married name of Jodie Thompson was already taken as a dot com.  It seems my creativity was lacking on that day, because I have since bought Jodie-Thompson.com and JodieThompson.com.au (yes I live in Australia!).  Oh well!

So what can you expect from this blog?

I hope you can learn something, save something, and be inspired to take action to create your own life by design.  Every part of this site has been created by myself as I tend to be an avid “self teacher”.  I don’t like things to get the better of me, and I have persisted through the technology maze until I could create something that I can fully call my own.  However – I do not recommend that you do the same!  LOL!  It cost me a lot of time & energy that to be honest, could have been focused on other tasks that would provide a finanical return on investment, not just an emotional gain!

If you are embarking on the entrepreneurial journey, I do encourage you to complete a wealth creation profile to help you see where your strengths naturally lie so that you can put your everything into those areas.  Recently I picked up my copy of my own wealth creation profile from Roger Hamilton and it was the best $100 I’ve ever spent.  Let me tell you, this information would have been VERY handy at the beginning of my shift to becoming a business owner & entrepreneur.  But alas, my path is my path

One of the biggest things that I have discovered about working online is that you can really ’stuff it up’ if you are going it alone. My success has literally been a combination of connecting and partnering up with the people who I ‘choose’ to align, work and pretty much ‘hang out’ with…. and along with that of course is my sheer determination to create financial freedom for my family.

My time these days is spent helping others ‘profit from their passions’ and for some, that means finding those passions first. My journey into personal development over the last 3 years has been an incredible ride, so much so that my goal is to inspire as many people as I can to embark on their own personal journey and be reminded that we really can “be, do or have” ANYTHING we want. It all comes down to knowing what we want, feeling that we can have and deserve it, and then taking action and being aware of what’s around to contribute to manifesting what will be.

I love what I do, and I love showing people just how powerful the internet really is, for their OWN benefit. This is very much a leading edge time & space. And if you are reading this bio, I congratulate you for already ‘knowing’ this.

Do you live by “the rules”?

For the most part, I could say that I’ve always been running against the grain, not overly rebellious, but generally having enough courage to stand up and say “don’t tell me what to do!”

My mother still shakes her head wondering what had happened to her shy, polite and dreamily artistic little girl …. especially now when she see’s me speak in public and on video sharing my passions, thoughts and visions in a hope to inspire others to find their freedom. I tell her that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and in my case my seed had a very strong influence from her mother – my beautiful, strong willed, gypsy blooded grandmother – my Nan!

I think we can all look back over our lives and pinpoint a time, perhaps even a shift in some cases when you received some sort of guidance from someone very dear to you, and that guidance sticks with you til the end of time. For me it was the joyous influence of living life to the full, a motivation you could say from my number one girl in the world – My Nan taught me to be free by being “ME”.

The bigger picture is that I love what I do!

I absolutely love learning something new everyday, in fact over the last 3 years I have learned more about technology, psychology, science, physiology, marketing, mentoring, leadership and financial literacy …… so much more than any one University degree could have taught me.

Every skill I have aquired has been a result of my absolute wanting to learn, better myself, become more productive and help more people maximise their potential, and join me in living a life uncommon!

Seek freedom and you too will live a life uncommon!

Who is Jodie?

Here are some basic facts:-

• Born in Sydney, Australia 1970
• Switched States (NSW & QLD) 5 times during primary school
• Completed High School at Southport State High in 1987
• 4 years with Westpac Banking Corp from teller to imports officer in International Banking
• 12 months living in England, travelling Europe and working at the London Bridge Fertility Centre (in accounts only!!)
• More State hopping between QLD & NSW from the sub tropics to the snowfields in Tourism & Hospitality
• Met Jason, travelled overseas (only 7 months on the 2nd trip), fell in love and married in 1998 at Bribie Island
• Tried the franchise industry with a own cleaning business (blah) but realised working together as a Resort Management Couple was a whole lot more enjoyable (hard yakka but fun all the same)
• Worked in some awesome places around Australia such as Alice Springs, Coral Bay, Caloundra and finished up as employees with a cushy job at a 4.5 star Corporate Apartment Hotel in the heart of the Brisbane CBD
• Discover personal development through network marketing and the wellness industry and took to it like a fish to water ….
• Now teaching, coaching & mentoring people all around the world through inspiration, awareness & attraction marketing
• Living a life uncommon…….
